Face Treatment

Treat Wrinkles

Wrinkles develop for different reasons. They may be caused by repeated facial expressions, a gradual loss of collagen or a reduction in the deep structural support as we age. At FRANKLY. SKIN + AESTHETICS, we don't believe every wrinkle should be treated the same way. During your consultation, we'll assess what's contributing to your concerns and talk you through the different approaches. In the upper face, wrinkles are most commonly caused by repeated muscle movement. Lines between the eyebrows (frown lines), across the forehead and around the eyes (crow's feet) are often treated with muscle relaxants to soften expression to reduce lines.

In the lower face, wrinkles are more often related to tissue laxity, volume loss and the effects of gravity. As the supporting structures of the face change over time, tissues can begin to descend, creating heaviness and deeper folds. Muscle relaxants can also be used strategically in the lower face by relaxing muscles that pull downward. This allows the opposing lifting muscles to work more effectively, creating a subtle lift. Common areas include the brows, corners of the mouth (marionette area) and the neck.
